Planning a destination wedding is an exciting journey, but with so many resort options available, it can feel overwhelming. At Romance Travel Group, we frequently hear the question, "What resorts do you recommend?" Let's dive into how we help you find the ideal resort for your dream wedding. EXPERT TIP: To make choosing a resort easier, only focus on the resort for now. Set the wedding packages and venues aside and look at the resorts for what they offer for a vacation. Where can you see yourself hanging out with guests? Do you like the pools? How are the rooms? Are there enough restaurants? What’s the beach like? Do you like the overall atmosphere and aesthetics of the resort? All the resorts have packages and multiple venues, and we’ll get to that, but for now, focus on a “vacation resort”, then we can layer back in the wedding details when you know which resort you like best. Personalized Recommendations Just for You The first thing to know is that we are not tied to any specific resort. This means our recommendations are completely honest and unbiased. Our sole focus is on finding the best fit for you, not promoting a particular brand. Over the past 25+ years, we have explored hundreds of resorts and built strong relationships with those that offer the best experiences for destination weddings. In short... you can trust our recommendations. Tailored to Your Unique Vision We understand that every couple is unique, with their own dreams and wish lists for their wedding day. Our approach to recommendations is highly personalized. Our goal is to match your specific needs and preferences to the perfect resort. While we do have our personal favorites and insights into which resorts excel at hosting weddings, what matters most is what you, the couple, are looking for. What We Consider Location Location within the destination is also important to be mindful of. Most couples don’t want resorts that are more than an hour or so from the airport. All transportation is included, but after an early morning and a 4-5 hour flight, the last thing guests will want is a 2-hour drive to the resort. Do you prefer a resort in the “hotel zone” so you’re close to clubs and shopping? Or do you prefer the quiet and privacy or a more spread out beachside neighborhood? What will your guests prefer? Budget Consider how much you're comfortable having your guests pay for a 3-night vacation. Typically, budgets start at $1200 per person for a 3-night, all-inclusive vacation including air, hotel, transfers, meals, drinks, tips and taxes. Remember though, you get what you pay for. Atmosphere The overall vibe of the resort is important. It sets the tone from the minute you step onto the property. Do you like the pools? How do the rooms look? Are there enough restaurants? How is the beach? Is it modern enough for you? Tropical enough? Can you see yourself vacationing here? Adults only vs. Family-friendly Adults-only or family-friendly is one decision that often stumps some couples. "We really want adults-only, but we have one or two young kids in the family." Ah, we hear you! Even one child means we must go with a family-friendly resort. Adult only resorts require all guests to be 18 and older. Our best advice is this... do what YOU want. It is your wedding. If you really don't want children around in the pool, at dinner, you have every right to choose an adults-only resort. We can, however, recommend family resorts that are not "childish" if this is a concern. Just let us know. When recommending resorts, we consider various factors based on your preferences:
Our dedication to finding the perfect match means that you can trust us to guide you to the resort that will make your destination wedding everything you've dreamed of and more.
