About ShannonMy best friend, Trisha, worked with Romance Travel Group several years ago to help her plan the wedding of her dreams in the Dominican Republic. This which was my first exposure to a destination wedding! Trisha stayed connected to Romance Travel Group through social media, and alerted me to an opportunity when she saw the agency was expanding their team. This is when my experience in the travel industry began! I couldn’t be more pleased with my decision to make the transition from twenty years in the mortgage industry, to travel! I’m so glad that they took a chance on me!” My love for travel began when I was a youngster, taking road trips in the station wagon with my family. We didn’t have to wear seatbelts back then, so my sister and I would play barbies in the back, and try to get semi-trucks to honk their horn at us when they drove by. As I grew older, those road trips turned into spring break trips with friends to Florida and Mexico.
When my husband and I were married, we honeymooned in St. Lucia, and several years later took our girls to both Hawaii, and Captiva. You’ll definitely find us in Las Vegas as much as possible too!
Family is everything to me! My husband and I have two daughters, ages 15 and 26. They’re best friends, which makes my heart feel like it’s going to explode! Our oldest was married last February and recently made us grandparents. (If you get me started talking about Little Miss Charlotte, you might never get me to shut up!) We are so lucky that both of our families live in fairly close proximity to us, and give us so many chances to spend time with each other.
My husband and I grew up watching and participating in sports, so it’s no surprise that we continue to support our favorite teams in our free time. We live in Wisconsin, but our favorite teams are in Minnesota! We have season tickets to Minnesota Gopher Volleyball (our family is a bit obsessed with volleyball, and our youngest daughter plays year-round) and you’ll catch us at a Twins game, a Vikings game, or a Wild game too every once in a while.
If I ever have the opportunity to travel with my family, and meld both of my loves together, there is nothing better! Working for Romance Travel Group has allowed me more travel opportunities, and I look forward to every single trip! I LOVE MY JOB!!! I wasn’t able to say that for 20 years. I love working with our couples, their families and friends, and making every single person feel important and valued. I love getting to hear each couples’ story, experience their joy as they plan their dream wedding, and help them along every step of the way!
