About Abigail

I started working in the travel industry at a five-star hotel and then moved on to work in the Groups department for a Tour Operator; Shelli and Romance Travel Group was my first and primary account that I was assigned. Now, my travel career has come full circle as I joined Shelli to work with and learn from her team of like-minded travel enthusiasts. I take immense joy in continuing to learn about new places, hotels, excursions, and unique experiences to help plan destination weddings and honeymoons that will forever be unforgettable!”

I was raised in Wisconsin and Minnesota with two older sisters, and our parents centered vacations around visiting family and friends across the United States.  Summer trips were always special when we met extended family at Grand Lake in Oklahoma: a beautiful (and relaxing!) part of our country. My first tropical vacation was to Kauai, Hawaii when I was in the seventh grade.  I still remember stepping off the plane and feeling an overwhelming sense of peace as the air I breathed was laced with floral scents; The Island was filled with beautiful exotic botanicals and welcoming people; The ocean, the blue sky and the swaying palm trees instantly brought a feeling of calm, happiness, and excitement to learn about a new destination. Island excursions still left time for the priorities we girls had, as we wanted to tan by the pool and order more (non-alcoholic) Lava Coladas…The main concerns one has in middle school!

As I have gotten older, I have been fortunate to travel across the world for work and pleasure.  With each trip, I now take time to sit and reflect in the beauty of the destination and the culture that makes it so very unique from my Midwest roots.  Whether it’s a domestic or international vacation, the diverse daily life, traditions, and customs observed allows me to have a greater understanding of people, and I bring home valued memories and a better appreciation of our world.
