One of the biggest decisions you’ll need to make right away when planning your destination wedding, in addition to WHERE you want to go, is WHEN to go. Your wedding date will determine who can attend and how much the trip will cost. Keep these 4 travel seasons in mind.
Holiday season = very high rates & sold out hotels: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and Easter. Be kind to your guests and try to avoid these dates.
Peak season = high rates: mid-Jan through Easter.
Mid-season = average rates: Easter though August, early January.
Low season = low rates: September through early November, early December. You’ll get the best rates if you choose a wedding date in low travel season!
You also want to make sure you give your guests enough time to plan and save for their trip. Sending a Save The Date a year or more before your wedding is a good idea so guests can budget for their trip.
