Romance Travel Group is excited to announce a new partnership with destination wedding photographer, Andrea White! Tell us a little about you? I am 31 years old living in the Twin Cities. I am newly married to my handy husband Ryan. Together we enjoy woodworking, painting, and traveling. Our love for the outdoors has us camping and goal setting to explore each National Park. My happy place is at the lake, enjoying the water and being with family. You can spot me out of a crowd with a camera around my neck documenting life’s beauty. How did you get into photography? My love for photography started as a kid. I was obsessed with disposable, digital ( any camera ) you name it! In college I took my first film class and began to love the dark room. From there I started to learn new techniques and bought my first Canon DSLR. I love capturing people in their element; raw, real and full of genuine emotions. Along with portrait photography I have also developed a freelance business photographing commercial + residential properties. Why weddings? Life is unexpected. One day a woman randomly reached out and said she liked a college project I had posted online and wondered if I would take her engagement photos. This was uniquely where It all started. This was pre-Pinterest craze and I remember buying a Bride Magazine studying poses and brainstorming ideas. From there, I posted a few images on Facebook and everything took off. I love the photo-journalistic approach to a wedding and how I can document step by step one of the best days of your life. Seeing friends and family enjoying life with one another is one the best things to be a part of. What is your favorite part of a wedding day? Some of my favorite moments on your wedding day happen right away. I like capturing all the behind-the-scenes memories while you’re getting ready. Once the images are delivered, you and your spouse get to relive your special day all over again. You finally get to see each other's hidden moments and of course the first-look that follows. Grab a tissue! My goal is to really move you and bring you right back to that special day. Can you share a moment during a wedding that took your breath away? That's a tough question! I feel like each wedding has those moments and it's hard to pick! Where you can usually see me shed a tear are the moments when the bride/groom walk down the aisle or at speech time when your dad, mom or grandparents get vocal about why they love you. How would you describe your photography style? I’m always striving for fun and genuine pictures. Not to posey and more go-with-the-flow moments. I love giving direction and communicate well with the bride + groom before the wedding. It’s important to know what your style is and what you want most out of your photos! Here in my one woman show, it is and will always be about quality. I don’t rush through the process. I don’t outsource my editing, and I don’t believe in slapping on a filter. Every image is selected, edited, and individually retouched. What would your past wedding couples tell us about you? My feedback generally consists of a few prided items; 1) Great with direction, friendly and funny. 2) Timely, always on track with editing deadlines and sneak peeks for those needed “Thank You” cards. 3) I can’t wait to use you again when we have babies! Any advice for our future destination wedding couples? Being a former destination bride with Romance Travel Group I have so many tips! I would love to chat more depending on what you’re wondering about. I could ramble on in this section for a few paragraphs, but If I had to say 3 things…. It’s the best decision we ever made, you and each guest will have absolutely so much fun, don’t stress about the little stuff everyone is so happy to be there!
