Curious what our couples ask us most often during the wedding planning process? We’re spilling the answers right here! These are the top three questions every destination wedding couple wants to know.

How much does a destination wedding cost?

Let’s talk numbers! For a 7-night stay at an all-inclusive resort, plan on spending around $3,000 for the two of you. Resorts typically range from $150–$250 per person, per night. That rate includes your room, meals, drinks, airport transfers, taxes, and gratuities. That's basically everything you need to enjoy your trip.

Add in two round-trip flights, usually around $1,000 total depending on your airline, destination, and time of year, and you’re set for travel.

Now, the wedding itself! Most couples host about four events: a welcome party, the ceremony, a cocktail hour, and a dinner reception. Wedding packages often cover your ceremony location, bouquet, boutonniere, officiant, cake, and chairs for about 40 guests. Packages can cost anywhere from $0 (yes, free!) to $15,000, but most couples spend in the mid-range of $5,000–$7,000.

All together, that means you and your fiancé can enjoy a week-long tropical wedding celebration for about $10,000, roughly one-third the cost of a traditional wedding at home. For more on costs, check out our Destination Wedding Cost Chart.

Which resorts are the best to get married?

There are a lot of factors to consider: your destination, budget, guest count, and vision for the big day. But here’s one of our favorite tips — look for resorts that offer free wedding packages!

Along with the resort’s all-inclusive benefits, these free packages often include things like expert wedding designers, décor, a sound system, an officiant, your wedding certificate, a semi-private dinner, and even honeymoon perks. And don’t worry, you can always customize the package to make it your own.

Almost all resorts also offer premium packages at an additional cost if you want more options or personalization. Curious about our favorite resorts with free wedding packages? Check out our top picks!

Where do we even begin with planning and booking?

Great question! Start by asking yourself a few basics: What’s your budget range? Which destination excites you most? When do you want to travel? How many guests will you invite?
