And really, that is one of the biggest things we noticed about Aruba as a whole. It feels comfortable. It is beautiful and tropical, of course, but it does not feel intimidating or difficult to navigate. English is widely spoken, the roads and infrastructure are well maintained, and the island feels safe and approachable right away.

A Warm Welcome From the Start
JOIA Aruba by Iberostar is located about 15 minutes from the airport, which is a huge bonus for wedding guests. After a long travel day, no one wants to land and then sit in a transfer for another hour or two. In Aruba, the arrival experience is refreshingly easy.
When we arrived at JOIA, we were greeted at the door with cold scented towels and friendly smiles. Check-in was smooth, the lobby was beautiful, and everyone we met was genuinely happy to welcome us. It set the tone immediately.

Eagle Beach is one of Aruba’s most famous beaches, and once you see it, you understand why. The sand is soft, the water is beautiful, and the whole setting feels bright, open, and easy to enjoy. JOIA is described as a luxury resort on Eagle Beach, and the location is definitely one of its strongest selling points.

One of the most exciting things about JOIA is its connection to Tierra del Sol Golf Course by Iberostar, located about 15 to 20 minutes from the resort. Tierra del Sol is Aruba’s only 18-hole championship golf course and is known for its beautiful island and ocean views.
We had our farewell dinner there, and it was beautiful. The setting felt completely different from the resort, which is exactly what makes it such a great wedding option. Think palm trees, cactuses, golf course views, and the Caribbean Sea in the distance. It was scenic, private, and memorable.
For couples who want something unique, Tierra del Sol is absolutely worth considering. The golf club can be rented for private events, and there are several ways to use the space. A private pool deck party, dinner on the terrace, or a full wedding event at the golf club would all be incredible options.
This gives couples more flexibility and allows them to create a wedding weekend that feels layered and intentional, with different settings for different events.
