One of the most common questions couples ask is, “How much should we tip our vendors?” The truth is, tipping is always about gratitude! It’s a way to recognize a job well done and to thank your vendors for making your wedding day extra special.

The numbers we’re sharing here are meant to give you a starting point. At the end of the day, your tips should reflect the level of service you received.

Tipping Your Destination Wedding Vendors

Makeup Artist/Hair Stylist - 10%

Photographer - $100

Videographer - $100

Florist - Between $50-$100 - depending on how involved the services are

DJ - $100

Officiant - $50

Other Staff to Consider Tipping

Wedding Coordinator - $100

Waitstaff - $100 - $200 total, depending on the size of the team

When's the Best Time to Tip?

The best time to hand out tips is toward the end of the evening. To make this easier, prepare envelopes with cash ahead of time and ask someone you trust—maybe your maid of honor or a parent—to handle passing them out. If you don’t get a chance to thank each vendor in person before they leave, don’t worry! They completely understand that your attention will be pulled in many directions on your wedding day.
